How To Use Tipping (or "Tip-On Gluing")

TIPPING:

Tipping, or tip-on gluing, is when a machine glues an add-on to a printed piece. A good example of tipping is when a gift card is mounted on another printed material like this.

You can also get creative with tipping by using it along with other print finishing services to make your pieces stand out. Some great pairings of finishing processes are:

  • Folding + tipping - fold items like maps into a small rectangle, then tip on cardstock making a pocket map! See an example here
  • Die cutting + tipping - die cut your items into whatever shape you would like, then tip on a gift card, coupon, or whatever else you'd like. See an example here
  • Tipping + shrink wrapping - after you choose your tipping option, shrink wrap each piece for a more professional finish. See an example here

HOW YOU CAN USE TIPPING FOR YOUR NEXT PROJECT:

Tipping is a great way for you to stand out to your customers. Our team can work with you to help determine the best option for your project. Consider a cool method of folding paired with a glued-on item, a die cut gift card holder with a tipped-on card, or a shrink wrapped small booklet or pocket map.
